8 Things To Do To Relax During Your Hotel Stay
It’s National relaxation day and one of my favorite ways to relax is booking a stay at a hotel and escaping reality (besides, cartoons hit different when you’re watching them from your hotel bed).
I mean like serious, what better way to enjoy this holiday than on a staycation, daycation, or vacation. Hotels are my top favorite places in the world because of the overall luxury experience from the mattress, soft fluffy pillows, views of the city, room service, walking distance to the gym, pool and if you’re lucky, the spa. It just does something to my spirit when I’m at a hotel and it always puts me in a great mood, plus I feel luxurious.
This all sounds amazing, however none of that matters if you don’t know how to relax and really enjoy your stay. But don’t worry, I got you!
Here are 8 things to do to relax during your hotel stay:
Before booking the hotel, look through their website and read about the hotel. Some hotels are known for certain things like an amazing afternoon tea, complimentary happy hour, a gourmet breakfast bar, $5 rosé when you book at their spa, movie night at the pool, etc. These type of things that most people overlook and miss out on. This way, you are able to relax better, knowing you’re able to take advantage of these things.
If it possible, tell them at check in that you want a late check out so you can sleep late and don’t have to worry about housekeeping barging in on you.
Upon check in, my rule of thumb is to always ask for a complimentary upgrade. You may get upgraded to a suite, a room with a lake view, a jacuzzi tub, etc., but you don’t know until you ask.
When you enter your room, of course, give it a good scan for luxury and cleanliness. Finding any trash or anything out of place after unpacking can be a headache in case you need to repack and go to a new room. Check the coffee station, make sure you have enough coffee or tea for yourself.
Upon scanning, please check the closet for spa robes. These are my nonnegotiables, and it’s the perfect luxury loungewear.
Make sure to have a candle or diffuser with you, they make the room feel cozier.
Have a sleep mask with you, it makes the room darker, it’s like a luxury self care must have. I wonder why hotels don’t offer those at check in.
Lastly, if you looked at the menu for room service and are not pleased with the selection or the price, it’s not the end of the world and you better not leave the room to get something to eat! Order Uber or Door Dash and have them bring it to you. This way, you’re still being treated like royalty and the ability to eat whatever you want while relaxing.
I hope this helps you enjoy your next (or current) hotel stay. If you need some self care goodies, check out my Self Care list on Amazon.
